Get a Mentor and Establish a System

Next step in setting up your business…

 

Do you have control over what happens in your life and in your business?

Can you acknowledge when you’ve made a mistake move on and not dwell in the past?

Do you use the expertise of people in your field to find help or do you do everything on your own?

Do you look at ways you can continually improve your performance at work and in life?

These are important issues you will need to address if you are to be successful in business.

 

You will need to learn to use the knowledge and experience of experts in many areas of business. This is called leverage. If you don’t have the support to outsource tasks or the guidance of a good mentor, then you can quite easily waste all of your time and make no money at all.

So next, what about the System?

 

As I said earlier, stop trying to do business without a business.

 

Think of any business in the world… what do they all essentially have in common?

  1. They can provide what the customer wants and deliver great value in the process. Think of your daily consumer purchases; you trade money for goods or services that you deem to be of equal or greater value; if it wasn’t you’d have shopped around till you found it cheaper – value is paramount.
  2. They have a network or community of people interested and/or willing to buy what they offer and have a way to contact these people be it by mail or a physical store.

 

We can apply these two concepts to the Internet…

  1. You have to provide great value to the shopper on your webpage, valuable enough to have the customer want to stick around and learn more from you.
  2.  You build a list of people interested in the information you have to offer on your website (your online virtual store) and have a way to contact them (email).

 

Do you understand how focusing on these two concepts will help you build a business?

 

So, rather than building a system to deliver valuable content and build a customer list, why are you still spending money on the fad’s delivered to your email inbox everyday?

 

Why are you not building the foundations of a real business online right now?

 

With out these foundations, without a system, nothing will work.

 

If you still think making money is just about marketing on the Internet then you have to realize that marketing is just a small section of business and just doesn’t run on its own.

 

If you take any of the smart marketers out there, the ones they call the gurus, who sell the latest and greatest marketing fad, if you could get behind the scenes you’d see their businesses are all built the same way – no matter what they sell.

 

They give away free products, ebooks, videos, software or audio interviews, something they can use as their ‘fishing hooks’. They use them to create mailing lists to which they then offer low cost products to and follow up to those who buy with high cost products. And they have systems in place to do this for them.

 

It’s the business model they have in place that makes them successful.

 

All you need to do is build your business.

 

Now, you may be saying:

“But Ryan, I don’t know how to build a business!

I don’t have a list!

And I don’t know where to start!”

 

Well, guess what, my friend?

 

I was in the same position not so long ago!

 

I was exactly where you are now. Nobody comes online knowing exactly what they need to know to become successful. Everybody has to learn, everybody starts off as a newbie.
